Setting up a Hazelcast cluster in Java

Hazelcast is an open-source in-memory data grid solution that provides distributed caching, distributed computing, and other distributed data structures for Java applications. In this blog post, we will discuss how to set up a Hazelcast cluster in Java.

Step 1: Add Hazelcast Dependency

First, we need to add the Hazelcast dependency to our Java project. We can do this by adding the following Maven dependency to our pom.xml file:

In the above code, we are creating a Config object and setting the network configuration. We specify the port for Hazelcast cluster communication and add the IP address or hostname of cluster members using the TCP/IP configuration.

Step 3: Start Hazelcast Cluster Members

To start the Hazelcast cluster, we need to run the same Java code on multiple machines or instances. Each instance will act as a cluster member. Make sure to change the IP address or hostname accordingly for each instance.
