Configuring connection pooling in Java WebLogic

  1. Open the WebLogic Administration Console by accessing the following URL in your web browser: http://localhost:7001/console. Replace localhost with the hostname or IP address of your WebLogic server if it’s running on a different machine.

  2. Log in with your WebLogic Administrator credentials.

  3. In the Domain Structure tree on the left-hand side, navigate to the domain where you want to configure connection pooling. Expand the tree until you reach the JDBC section.

  4. Select JDBC Data Sources under JDBC.

  5. Click on New to create a new data source or select an existing data source to modify its settings.

  6. Fill in the required details for the data source, such as its name, JNDI name, and database connection details.

  7. Scroll down to the Connection Pool section. Here, you can configure various settings related to connection pooling:

    • Initial Capacity: Specify the initial number of connections in the pool.
    • Maximum Capacity: Set the maximum number of connections that can be created in the pool.
    • Shrink Frequency: Define how often the connection pool should shrink (reduce the number of connections if they are not being used).
    • Test Frequency: Specify how often connections in the pool should be tested for availability.
  8. Once you have configured the connection pool settings, click on Next and continue configuring any other required settings for the data source.

  9. Finally, click on Finish to save the changes and apply the new connection pooling configuration.
